Well I am forever using karate as a learning experience, there is always more to learn and develope.
With my karate training, I focus upon learning the kata, practising the movemets, learning the lessons of the kata, developing the muscular tension required.
Then I change up my kata with shadow sparring, shadow sweep training, Tai-sabaki, Ashi-sabaki, Te-sabaki training, mirror routines.
In my fitness training I alternate aerobic, anaerobic, muscular strength training, I include steadily changing stretching routines, and allow myself to choose which muscles and activities I wish to focus on as a spurr of the moment depending on how I feel, and the previous week.
I also happen to be the kind of person who finds physical activity to be theraputic, relaxing, and calming, a form of meditation in and of itself.
