Indeed. Ninjutsu, like anything to use stealth, assassination or covert operations, would look to use any weapon available, which is why the thread went towards firearms.

Do you have a thread link to it?

A ninja related fire arms issue, several modernizing ninjitsu groups to teach fire arms training. The Nine Shadows of the Koga Ryu and the Five Rings Ninjitsu Organization among them. I believe at one time both Robert Bussey & Ronald Duncan did as well.

i guess i missed these posts when i was out on my Field mission.

but Fire arms and Modern guns are a part of Ninjutsu. Robert Bussey's camp and Ronald Duncan still teach Fire-arms training and Disarms.

some of Master Duncans fire arms vids can be found on youttube.

like mentioned before. the firearms part of ninjutsu is Kayaku-jutsu which includes smoke an explosives, allegorical with Fire element.

i still cant find that pistol-thingy but some of the other early guns that ninja used were a match lock pistol which was also rigged to look like a sword deceptively.

the Tanegashima long rifle which was used by the warring states period ninja.

Ohzutsu is a wooden mortar that was used by the togakure-ryu ninja. similar to the one used by Infantry soldiers.

the Sodezutsu was another device used by togakure-ryu ninja. its a small hand held cannon.

in our Bujinkan dojo, we usually train with Pistols and M-16s for weapons disarms. some Dojos have the luxury of being able to go to the gun range or do airsoft / paintball training outdoors like at seminars etc.

When I first learned Omoto Ryu Ninjitsu the limited firearms consisted of pistols semi-auto & revolvers, shot guns and bolt action .308 rifles. I actually added assault weapons to the list...

I find that modernizing the weapon used in ninjitsu is key to keeping the art functional. Otherwise we are left with only taijutsu in black JBs & hiding in the shadows. I believe Ronald Duncan field tested his modernized way of the winds system in combat in the Army. Any body know about this rumor???

Though I agree with you, Hajilee, I believe it would be rather unlikely for there to be a video of this exact incident on the Internet. Still, if anyone's got a video of this at all, link it over!
