Ninjutsu, Ninpo Taijustu or Combative Taijustu

Shouldn't Ninjutsu just be called Ninpo Taijustu nowdays.

My Sensi would acutually call it Combative Taijustu
since we do not use the art in a traditionl way.

Can you explain your reasoning? I am not that familiar with Ninjitsu but even less so with the other arts you mentioned.

Ninjutsu duh, a stealth focused art martial.

Ninpo Taijutsu is a reference to Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, previously called Bujinkan Ninpo Taijutsu, previously called Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu, previously called Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu.

Name changes and why...
Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu (named as such because it was the oldest of the 9 bujikan schools)
Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu (refering to both the new focus taijutsu (unarmed combat aka jujutsu) and its link to the oldest of the 9 schools)
Bujinkan Ninpo Taijutsu (refering to the whole of the 9 schools and not just paying credit solely to the Togakure Ryu, the oldest of the nine schools which payed the least into the total system)
Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu (refering to who focus of the system as not only a total MA system but on the warrior philosophy.)

In reality ninpo and ninjutsu are the same thing, ninjutsu meaning stealth art and ninpo meaning stealth law. However Kenpo also means fist law and is a form of karate. So the idea of ninpo being related to kenpo or specifically the Buddhist and shinto monks who spread kenpo is considered by historians.

Nice attitude.

A list of names does not answer my question although very impressive on the lineage of something I have no clue about. Stealth art means nothing to me as well as many people can be quiet and sneaky it does not quite make it a martial art. I was asking is their a difference in the martial aspect and if so describe it. I know ninjutsu is stealthy and they wear black I was looking for more information then what is normally found in a Sho Koshugi movie.

Also Kenpō (拳法, Kenpō?) is the name of several martial arts. The word kenpō is a Japanese translation of the Chinese word quánfǎ.

Sometimes it is a bit confusing how the names of the schools change over and over as time goes by. I would much happier if they just called it Shinobi-jutsu. As I think it was in its origin.

Basho will become famous soon enough

It seems like the more I know about other arts the less I know about ninjitsu. It has such an involved history and evolution that I can't sort it out.
