Maybe you never went to a "dojo" because you can't even handle people having a discussion with you much less punching you in the face.

Want my respect? Quit acting like a whiny baby because people didn't say what you wanted to hear and act like a man. You'll need to learn how to be one before you can even THINK about being a Martial Artist.

Unbelievable.

Well before I began posting I read the forum rules so I could know what I should do to keep from getting banned from the forum. So I have made every effort to be polite and respectful. And I don't consider getting offended because I felt insulted, and being assertive in the situation being "whiny".
And people didn't say what I wanted to hear? I LOVE hearing criticism...it helps me to be better...The problem with that is, some people don't know the difference between giving constructive criticism and being a downright container of vinegar and water.
I know EVERYONE is not going to like me...I would be foolish to assume this...But seriously dude have a little decency...if it's beyond you to like me fine...then ignore me

The 18 disciplines that you are talking about are separate styles of Ninjitsu that have been created to be taught to the public or in private sessions. Now you will find certain schools of Ninjitsu that specialize in a particular technique but it also will have its weaknesses as well. An example to give some schools adhere to teaching traditional Ninjitsu with all of the classical ninja weapons. While some schools like SWAN modernized themselves and started incorporating firearms training, MMA/BJJ training, and Parkour into their regimen. You can combine certain elements of Ninjitsu to other styles but it would have to be the pieces that you see that can benefit you in combat or in competition. One example of this is Hardee Merritt and how he incorporated BJJ to improve his Jutaijitsu (Groundwork in Ninjitsu)in his style of To Shin Do Ninjitsu (Stephen Hayes' style). He also has a video of him on Youtube choking out someone with a Guillotine Choke in 26 seconds so you can mix aspects of Ninjitsu with other styles or aspects from other styles into Ninjitsu just make sure that its the blend that will better you as a martial artist and as a person.

Thank you...I've never heard of SWAN before but I like what you described...but I bet those schools are few and far between. SWAN huh...I need to look into that.

Here's their website:

Serious Ninja Training Camps for the Modern Martial Arts Warrior

they in my opinion ain't doing nothing new that Hwang Kee did with mixing Taekkyon, Shotokan Karate, and Chin Na Kung Fu to form Tang Soo Do. Another better example is Mitsuyo Maeda combining his experience from Kodokan Judo, Catch Wrestling, and fighting other stylists like Boxers, Capeoria stylists, and Savateurs to teach Carlos Gracie to fight which lead to the development of Brazilian Jiujitsu. Not being disrespectful or trying to discourage you but combining other styles or cross-training into other styles isn't anything new in the martial arts.

Maybe it was a mistake to come here, or maybe I presented myself totally wrong. Bottom line is, that I already have a website with some people who have MA credentials, and they are more than happy to contribute to my Information Database. I came on here so ANYONE with some relevant information could have the opportunity to post it on my site, both anonymously and accredited, and Free. If anyone wishes to contribute their tips, tricks, and MA exercise training tips, along with any techniques they can allow themselves to part with, I would LOVE to put them on my website. If not, then that's your right to refuse. But in the near future, there will be a lot of people visiting my site. Especially all those kids who dressed up as ninjas and tried to rob someplace, since my website is Ninja-based. So you have the opportunity to put accurate information out there, instead of complaining that there's so much false information available. This is a need that I saw and I wanted to do something about it. So I kindly asked a hypothetical question to get a feel for things. But being polite isn't always the best way to accomplish the mission. So this is your opportunity. You can either help or end up bad-mouthing me later down the road. I figure that my chances are good that I'll get badmouthed anyway, so I figured I could be completely honest about my intentions. The site is here...I'm going to continue to work on it and get more members...so if you refuse to contribute, then I don't think it would be fair to complain later.
German Ninja...over and out.

Good luck with the whole process of taking your ball and then going home.

People honestly tried to encourage you to train in martial arts in the ways they feel are best for your goals. We all tried to actively sway you away from "home study kits" and towards schools that you teach you good techniques. The part where people said you were "whinny" was when, after asking for our advise, you got insulted that we didn't tell you what you wanted to hear. People like the ones here will be the absolute least of your barriers to learning effective martial arts for either self defense, sport or art.

I would like to point out a mistake that I see often. Chin Na is not a stand alone system of kung fu. It is siezing and locking and referring to it seperately is like referring to a right cross as a seperate martial art system. The system that the chin na is a part of will directly effect how it is used and its' base concepts. You could take different styles of kung fu, such as Wing Chun, Pao Hua, Hung Gar, Pai Lum, or Eagle and the chin na is going to be different in each one. Chin na is a general term, not a specific one.

But I did take their advice...from the ones who gave it instead of insulting me. I stated countless times that I had planned to get proper training. And I'm not taking my ball anywhere but the courts...I've done nothing wrong, I don't deserve this kind of treatment, but I'm not going anywhere. I have had about 5 different messages from other members who have actually given me sound advice...instead of screaming, "DO IT MY WAY"
This forum is still an excellent source of information, and I'll link it in my site. And now that I know what to expect...I can do it with a smile.

Germanninja, I think people are just trying to establish who you are and what your about, before they buy into the idea of posting hard earned tips that have taken years to learn and are rightly very precious and valuable info. May I ask what the website you are creating is called, please feel free to PM it to me if you wish. Then I can asses what it’s all about. Thanks

You're not a ninja.

We here are martial artists. Real ones. Why don't you go take a look at some of the videos posted here recently of members sparring with each other and putting themselves on the line to practice their skills. If you think you've done anything to deserve my respect I can tell you that you haven't.

The only people that are going to be visiting your site are people I don't give a crap about. I am busy training in ACTUAL Martial Arts, some kids wearing Ninja outfits thinking they know how to disappear and climb walls ARE NOT MARTIAL ARTISTS. They're nerdy Dungeons and Dragons playing wannabes who want nothing to do with my school because they know they'll get their asses kicked all over it.

Take your 20 sided dice and go play somewhere else bro. This place isn't for you.

Wow just wow man. Look the point people are trying to make is YOU CANNOT TEACH YOURSELF MARTIAL ARTS! It's very simple. If you've been in a fight ummm that's cool I guess I don't know what your point is but, that doesn't mean you know martial arts. And knowing martial arts doesn't guarentee victory in a fight, to think so is very foolish. So when the martial artists here say you should find an instructor and you go on like a 5 year old school girl with skinned knees. The idea of I see a punch I do a punch I see a block I do a block is very very uninformed. You may think you do it but, do you know if it's correct? Is your weight shifted to proper spot? Is your foot work correct? A book or a video can't tell you this so you ty it on you own no one is there to correct your mistakes so you throw a crapy punch or block. Is that really your goal to half ass it and be sub-par.

So if these words seem harsh to you, big deal get over it. It's what you've asked for. All you've done is made excuses and lied and now you're salty because people aren't showing you respect? How can you show respect someone lies about a kaate instructor telling them to break a girls back if they attack you??? Seriously kid that smells so much like BS I had to leave the room. So grow up listn to what these people have to say and STOP feeling like the victim and crying. Grow a set jeez!
