Keysi Fighting Method

I was wondering what everyone thinks of the Keysi Fighting Method. If you don't know what it is, it's a style that appearantly has it's roots in Jeet Kune Do, and it's the style used in Batman Begins as Batman's fighting style.

Here are some links to check out:

The official Keysi website

http://www.keysikfm.com/en/batmanbegins.php- a section of the Keysi site that has quotes from the cast and crew of Batman Begins talking about why they used Keysi in the movie

http://www.martialarm.com/martialarts/keysi.html-A site that talks about Keysi

http://www.cinemareview.com/production.asp?prodid=3004-Batman Begins production notes that discuss Keysi.

The Wikipedia article for Keysi

Keysi demo for Batman Begins-A video on YouTube from the Batman Begins special features. Note: This clip is quite sort (2 minutes), the orginal special feature was about 10-15 minutes long, and showed more of Keysi than this clip.

So what does everyone think of Keysi? I think it looks like a great style. If it ever comes to America, I'm definitly interested in studying it.

Aha! Keysi/KFM!

I like it!

I like it lots!!

Saw the film, watched the extras, looked up a club, travelled 40 miles+ to take part, club had changed the day for training in Keysi

Spoke to the instructors anyway and learnt a fair bit of what its about. Want to train in it but now cant get to a club in time from work.

Still keeping my eyes peeled for a closer club; if I find one I'll post back about what its really like.

That first fight scene in the prison is one of the best fight scenes I can think of in a movie. Its realistic and they didn't use a 'drunk camera' method.

I recently came across another Keysi-related site.. http://www.totalcombatacademy.co.uk/gallery.htm, It doesn't really have much new info, but it has a photo gallery, and one particularly interesting thing about that is that two of the pictures are of Dan Inosanto. That would seem to indicate that Mr. Inosanto approves of Keysi. Additionally, I recently found out that the two founders of Keysi (Andy Norman and Justo Diéguez) are also listed as JKD instructors under Mr Inosanto (see:http://inosanto.com/index.php?option...pper&Itemid=60). I knew that the Keysi founders were orginally JKD practitioners, but it's interesting that they are certified instructors as well.

Just thought I'd add this bit of new information.

Keysi still looks like an interesting style, and I still hope it comes to the USA someday soon...

some of the exercises they were doing gave me flashbacks of when my instructors used to "smoke" (punish) us in army warrior transition school.

keysi seems cool though kinda similar to jeet kune do?

Well, there are bound to be some similarities, since the two guys who created Keysi were originally JKD instructors. As I understand it, when they created Keysi, they borrowed some ideas and concepts from JKD, but they also used a lot of new stuff as well. But I'm not really an expert on the subject since Keysi still hasn't come to the U.S. yet, so I haven't been able to learn a whole lot about it.

If you take another look at the official website, see original post for link, they are saying that Keysi is coming to the states.

Hope you have more luck than me, still no club that I can reach in time
