Other Martial ArtsDiscuss other martial arts here - such as Capoeira, Savate, Fencing, and Western Martial Arts, etc.
Saw this on Mind Body & Kickass moves before, the bloke was with some hip-hop dancers showing them ways to transform there moves into fighting techniques. The only real style I know which is related to this is Capoeria (sp?). But is there anyothers and if so what they like ?

Cheeky gits! Breakdancing and similar styles of dancing take a lot from Capoeira, there are even some moves which are exactly the same as their Capoeira counterparts. It's like a (very) naive Judo-person who had only been in sports tournaments saying "hey, I could use these moves to defend myself on the street, I wonder why no one else has thought of that".
Sorry, whenever me and any of my Capoeira friends see any breakdancers we all think 'I could kick his/her ass' although saying that is a bit stupid since breakdancer are usually quite strong, in the same way yogis and ballet dancers are.
As for music with martial arts, the most obvious one I can think of is the Korean art of Taekkyon, which is a dance/fight also. There's probably more, I'll have to find out.

Ah, Steven Seagull, I bet nobody's thought of that before.
As far as I'm aware a lot of the Filipine stick fighting arts are taught as a dance going back to the times when the Spanish invaded and banned all martial arts training... I think...
Dancing and fighting go so well together! they both massively improve fitness and coordination and strength...

Thats not very nice, although judo is very much a sport, it would be quite easy to take out some capawara fools. What crazy dance move would u pul out when i got u in a head lock on ur back? Dont dis judo1
I wasn't insulting Judo at all, on the contary, I have a lot of repect for Judo, Jujitsu and similar arts as I'm sure others on the forum know about. I was just using the example to show that turning breakdancing into a martial art is sort of (although not totally) a backward progression since breakdancing came from a martial art in the first place. In the same way trying to turn sport Judo into a martial art (although I believe Judo is a martial art anyway, but bear with me here guys) is also a backwards progression since it was also a martial art to start with. Get it?
