Jay | I watched this TV show about Krav Maga, and it looked great, but only for "Day to day" self defence... I know its ranked the 8th best self defense art in the world, but these lists change from every person...
I also know that the Israeli Army uses Krav Maga for Hand-to-Hand Combat

Home Country: | Went to a seminar held by Hillel (a Jewish organization) at my school. I won't put down the art itself (because it does seem like a decent set of thoughts about self-defense), but the practitioners gave off an arrogant attitude. The head instructor had actually being doing Krav Maga for less time than I had been doing Tae Kwon Do. I can't help but think that this was just the attitude of the school however, and not the art as a whole.
If there is a school of it around you, and you fit well with the school's atmosphere, I say go for it. |

Home Country: | I went to a seminar by a cuban guy, who was a black belt in tkd, hkd and was instructor of krav maga, I was shocked by his speed and hability to disarm a guy with a gun or a knife, he was really good and cool, at the end of his speech he told us that any MA, with the correct aplication and preparation, can get the same results, but krav maga includes all dirty tricks for real battles, and that's something that traditional MA avoid. |

Although I disagree about traditional artists not using 'dirty' tricks to survive. Eye gouges and the like are/should be common place in many arts, just not in competitions or shows. (After all, they are ugly and they hurt people, making them unsuitable for those venues.) |

Home Country: | I have talked to many Jewish People, because I was interested in Krav Maga. I know it is a good art, but they all think it is the ultimate art because it is made by God's chosen people. There is definitely a slight bit of arrogance in this art.
