Talking Combat Kenpo Karate

Combat Kenpo Karate mixes American Kenpo Karate, Ymate Ryu Akijitsu, and Wing Chun Kuen. I take techniques like The Triggered Salute and add the centerline control method of Wing Chun, and adds the small joint manipulations of Akijitsu. I hope to post ome videos soon on You Tube to demonstrate what I have been working on. I hope I can get some good feed back, and constructive advice. After all nobody knows everything, and anybody can learn new theories and techniques.

I'm interested in seeing how you combined the very different footwork of the sytems you mentioned. Looking forward to seeing the Utube vids.

Footwork and application of Combat Kenpo Karate

The footwork is strongly based from American Kenpo Karate. With the use of pivoting and corner stepping from Wing Chun to gain centerline control. There are also several Kenpo applications that truely work well when used with the goatclamping stance and half stepping of Wing Chun. As far as the blocking, it depends on the range of your opponet. Obviously close range : bong sao, tan sao, paak sao, fooksao, ect. From futher out we use more of the intercepting/ borrowing energy tactics of Kenpo. The really cool thing is how Akijitsu blends into these techniques. Imagine someone attacks with a lead jab, yo react with a bong sao tan sao combination, while cross stomping the closest leg, back fist to the nose, while still controlling the attacking hand, roll over and strike the tip of thir nose with a brushing elbow strike. Palm strike to the floating ribs, wrapping around their arm and apply a standing arm bar lock, circle stepping inward to throw to the ground not releasing the arm bar. I really do need to make some video demos for everybody. It is really is much easier to demonstrate then explain, however I am hoping that I can convey the techniques and theories in a manner that will be easy for others to learn, while at the same time not locking anyone into being another me. Hopefully they will learn what I have to teach, but look or react in their own unique way.

So you're using center line rather than central line wing chun? Interesting. Still looking forward to the videos. A video is worth a thoussand words ....
