Philosophical DiscussionDo you have a philosophical view to martial arts styles, training, etc. ?
In a brief foray through the various forums within, I was unable to find a thread dedicated to jokes, though there are several threads with jokes in them, and several comedians abound.
So, unless I am overstepping my bounds, I’d like to start a joke thread, but not just any joke thread, a martial arts and philosophy joke thread. Many things can be discovered about personality, people, and society by how they joke, that’s how I justify posting it here.
The only rule(s) I suggest is to try and keep it clean of any overtly sexual, racial, personal bias. Anything you might see on the Simpsons or Family Guy is generally safe, oh, and try to make it about martial arts or philosophy or both
I'll start...
Q: How many ninjas does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: Impossible to tell, they'd kill anybody trying to turn on the light.

Really? Family Guy has lots of overtly sexual and racial jokes. Maybe even scale it back a little from that and stay within normal forum rules.
Tae Kwon Do - The Korean art of kicking and punching with the flexibility of a ballet dancer.

Yes, I suppose you are correct. Then again, I don't think the forum rules are followed that stringently at times.
I guess I don't watch Family Guy enough to notice. Personally, I hate the show. Perhaps I fell into the trap of expecting a nationally syndicated cartoon to be 'safe'.
* * *
Q: Why did the Ninja cross the road?
A: To assassinate the chicken and disappear in darkness.
I know people have better ones than mine, so spill'em!!!
This thread could be considered as the Lighter Side of martial Arts, hence Philosophy can be a whole-separate subject of humor.
True, but it'd be interesting (at least to me) if the discussion within could be a way of understanding what we do as martial artists from a humorous philosophical perspective.

Defending yourself, your beliefs, or your individuality is never easy as it only brings conflict....just look at the news, your school, or a Martial arts forum.....
