because everything progresses. If people want to "duke it out" between themselves, fine, then the one who loses comes back with a weapon, then someone the other guys comes back with a bigger weapon, then more people get involved, then more people with more weapons....
Where does it end? There are no doubt there are times when things simply must be solved physically but what is wrong with it when people use that physical force when they could take a less violent approach? It breeds and soon too many people want to handle thing physically, eventually, like what we see on the news everyday, people just skip the physical part and just start going right for the guns. That kind of mentality is why people get shot for "dissing" or for stepping on someone's sneakers or because someone thought someone else took their parking space.
Because fighting for anything other then self defense or competition is just stupid. It doesn't solve anything. If I nail your girl (which given half a chance ) and you decide to fight me it doesn't un-bang you girl. Worse yet if you lose I just banged your girl and kicked your ass, that's a double whammy bro. So why is it looked at as a bad thing? Because most dumb things are looked at as bad. I like fighting I think it is an ultimate expression of ones self but, I'm not fighting just because I'm a Sox fan and you're a Brewers fan, if it was the sCrUBS then maybe
I like that, thats a good one.
I have no problem with fighting but only if someone else starts it. I won't fight if someone calls me a name but I will if they get within a certain distance and I feel threatened. My teacher always said that if someone gets within arm reach then they are invadining your space and to tell them to step back a few steps. If they don't then its on like donkey kong. hit em' first and make sure they drop. Then throw a knife or weapon in his hand before the cops get there. I personally like the adrinaline rush from fighting.

That's good. For a minute I thought you were serious. As to getting an adrenaline rush from fighting. I assume you will grow out of it. Unless it's in a ring.

No I was serious about the adrinaline rush thing, I'm 35 years young so I doubt I'll grow out of it. But i will say I don't start fights though.
Oh yeah nothing to do with the large military funding, outnumbering our numbers by around 10 times, and having a much larger amount of toys to play with... No nothing to do with that.

Okay, even if you take escalation out of the picture (which you can't), fighting will still be viewed as unconstructive by society due to all the other negative consequences that can occur (which have already been listed throughout this thread).

Also, don't you Americans utilise reservists in war theaters? Not wishing to criticise the army reserve but I just can't believe that reservists would have anywhere near the same amount of combat conditioning as professional soldiers.

Makes you wonder why TMA dont hold more (hpw to actually hit shoot them classes), or why gun owners don't try and take some of those imaginary classes. HMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....
That's what shotguns and automatics are for.
As for TMA's, my Silat class used to go to skirmish but we were also given marker knives as well as guns. Once we got within close range, the marker knives claimed more victims then the guns.
