Totally agree it was adapted for western tastes, but I think people who as never been to China would be in for a shock when it comes to original food, in saying that different provinces in China have their own variations on Chinese food
I love the food in China but it is indeed different than what you find in the west. I'm studying martial arts here in China and we eat rarely eat sweet and sour chicken and eggrolls, but the food is wonderful!
hello and thank you for your reply i see you ar at su's school , well i do hope you are enjoying your stay in china ... i have been many times my son lives and owns the only western martial arts school in china he also as been to the school you are at in fact he started the school with su, he invested money to help su... but now he as one of the best run schools in china , some of the best masters you will find in china check out his web site.. Shaolin, Taiji, Qigong, Xingyi Quan, Bagua Zhang, Baji Quan, Modern Wushu, Martial Arts School - Taining Rising Dragon - China..
well i always like to hear from people who is visiting china keep in touch and let me know what u think of my sons school web site .. keep training hard .. remember no pain no gain
Just want to mention because i completely love and respect
Chinese history and culture, Chinese food in America is really just a variation and in some cases completely different from traditional Chinese food. It was made by Chinese immigrants trying to start restaurants, and developing food that was more to American tastes.
Yes, a Chinese Cuisine outside China does NOT serve trad. Chinese food...

Hi Jeanie, no i'm not at su's school anymore. The quality is not what it once was. In fact I wouldn't recomend it to anyone. I am friends now with many of the students there because of the close proximity of our schools and many of them are unhappy. Some of thier students have come to our school also. Master Su is not a very well respected man in this area anymore. But please don't mention the name of his school because i am not intending to bad mouth him. I just want other students to know of other schools in our area. Interest though that your son was partners with him. Small world isnt it?
hi again
thank you for a fast reply yes i do know what you mean !! my son is owed money by su .. if it was not for my boy su would have had no school .. you should contact my son he can tell you lots ... his not all that i can tell you .. but life is not perfect and you do get people in this world who like to use people and he is one of them.. this is the reason my lad started a school because he spent a year at siping thats how he met su..and he saw that some of the schools are not what they say they are... he aims to please westerners good training / food etc , also because of the love he as for martial arts he as trained from the age of 11 so a lot of years..
you well know my son or some of his friends .. he as lived in china for 5 yars and is married to a chinese girl with a one year old son.. anyway you keep in touch and have a very happy new year all the best jeanie
Hi Martialman,
Yes you are quite correct in what you say , it is very hard in China to open a business they like you to have chinese partners and put their name on the paperwork for the business, but in saying that it can be done in a westerners name my son as done it but you do need a good lawyer and from HK if you can get one...
But it is very true they like to take your money but have nothing in your name, My son's school is not like this he did it the correct way with everything he needed for his school...
I do like China as a country to Visit but to be honest I really do not think I could live there for ever but to visit,,, it is an unbeleivable place, and i am not just saying this because its where my son's school is but Taining is the most beautiful place I have ever been, and i have been to a lot of countries, Taining is the real China with beautiful waterfalls , mountains , lots of Temples to visit and lots more...
I last went their for two monthes Apart from missing western food I had a really good time...Its always the food that I miss, The food in China is nothing like the food you buy from our chinese Take-Aways you get in the western world...
hope to chat again best wishes jeanie

Yes, gou rou is raised livestock like chicken, sheep, cow, etc., elsewhere. Foods of one culture, may seem apalling to another.
In India, they freak when Occidentals eat beef.
