I was a PMA school, (Premier Martial Arts) run by Greg Silva and VP Bary Vanover of United Professionals. They are suing at least one of their former schools.
Premier Martial Arts charges there members a whopping $1,000 dollars each month to be one of there PMA schools and gives the owner the use of there logo, name and curriculum.
I quit because I will not pay for there Green Logo. It was implied that they would be working very close with all there PMA schools to better there over all success.
This was not my experience at all. I ended up with a bunch of adds I cant use and a drained bank account. The service I received from the company’s VP Barry VanOver was nothing less than condescending.
I thought that it was just me but know I have seen several pma school owners that have had the same issues with Barry Vanover and Greg Silva the president of
Thank you for the info regarding this organization.
I have not had any dealings with these people, so I've not experienced this. Unfortunately, I have also not had any dealings with you. I'm afraid that when someone shows up and their only post is bashing another person/style/organization, I've got to wonder if that person has a legitimate beef, or if they're just running a smear campaign.
So please, stick around the forums, post, get to know people. If, after we've met you, we see that you are serious about your art, and your trials and tribulations have been true, there are many of us who will spread the word to other martial artists, letting them know the dangers of associating with this organization.
I'm sorry that this comes off as a bit rude, and I wish it hadn't been. I just felt you deserved to know how I (and I believe many others around here) feel about people whose first post on the forums has an agenda, especially if that agenda harms someone else.

Welcome, after reading your post i did first believe it to be spam, however after reading your post i feel differently.
Sirdarksol he signed up to the forum to ask a question and tell us of his experience with this company, just because he makes a few posts it shouldn't make a difference. For all you know i could be a scamming business owner who's never took MA in his life.

You could be, but if that's the case, you've put a lot of work into it.
Ok, try looking at it this way:
PMA is running their business and doing an ok job of it. (I don't know if this is the case. As I've said, I have no knowledge of them. But because I have no knowledge, I have to give both sides the benefit of the doubt). The owner of a dojo starts making decisions that reflect poorly on the organization (perhaps is encouraging training that is detrimental to the martial artists' health, or perhaps the dojo is discriminating against minority members) so PMA is forced to drop the dojo. So the owner of this dojo goes on the internet and begins badmouthing PMA on every martial arts forum. PMA suffers merely because this person is vindictive.
As I said, I have no way of knowing which scenario is accurate. Most people, myself included, tend to put extra weight on the first thing they hear in a situation. In this case, we all have just been predisposed to dislike this PMA, which is unfair to PMA, whether or not Rampage's claims are true. It's really easy to just log into a bunch of forums and badmouth somebody, or promote your school, or whatever.
However, it takes far more effort to maintain a presence on those forums, talk with people, establish friendships, that sort of thing. Through discussion, you find out a lot about a person. Not everything, and some people are better liars than others, but often you learn enough to get some idea of the veracity of their claims. In this case, I want to know more about the situation and those involved before I truly consider this claim.

i am leaving this post up.... i figure people will use there discretion. if later we find that this member is only spamming it can be deleted. but if that school is seriously scamming people then people should be aware of it.

Good. I'm not trying to say that the guy is spamming, and if there is an issue with PMA, as I said, there are many of us who, I think, would be willing to help spread the word.
I just wanted to encourage him, should he come back and read our posts, to stick around the forums and talk with us.

Since it's been over a month, and Rampage (as in, "man on a rampage") hasn't posted any replies, I don't give his post much credibility.
I leave it to the moderators and complete to decide whether this post is worth the space it's taking up.

There is another possibility. Someone may have signed up and then forgot about the site. There were suggestions about emailing people with more than 0 but fewer than 20 posts to see if they are still interested in posting on the forum. Maybe that is a good idea?
there is a post about it in the mod area. it was decided that complete should work on e-mailing them because it mean a little more coming from the admin than a mod.
I havent read this post since im not a mod but...This doesn't have to be something complete has to labor over. Im sure there is something built into the forum software that allows you to set some criteria (less than 20 posts, hasnt logged in in over 3 months, etc) that automatically sends out and email to that user.
