I wish it was that often. Actually, when I took TKD in Korea, I did test every month. Some may argue that's too often but we were "required" to attend classes 6 times a week. So, it's really equivalent of testing every 3 months for people who only attend the class twice a week.

It depends on your age, rank, and learning abilities! We hold a testing every 2 months, but the ones who test say this testing, won't test again for another 4 to 6 months or longer! I've kept underbelt students same rank for more than a year.. and then there are those who train seriously and are perfectly capable of ranking up within 4 to 6 months. Ofcourse as they get towards intermediate level, times are more so varied and there are years between dan ranks! It's important to us to keep a high standard for ranks! My son has been training in the regular junior class since he was 4 years old and has only recently earned his yellow sr. rank (he's 6 almost 7 now) and is by far more trained than most children.. but in my oppinion it's better to be the BEST Yellow Sr. ever, than a really Crappy Green Belt!!

Well since I won't be passing on the form to the next generation, I won't charge anything.
If I did charge, It would be an option wether they wanted to pay for insurance or not. Once I get the school going, it will start out at 100 dollars for insurance, the rest
is covered by me. Its is optional wether they want to pay more or not, if they don't thats fine, if they do thats cool as well.
But thats if I see that the person is respicible anough to carry on the legacy.

ummm. lets see it monthly cost would be around 55 US dollars around there. for either tkd, judo, or boxing.
thwn it would be around 75 US Dollars to be able to take all of them, whenever you want. we also do like pay in advance for upcoming months to a year if they wish to do so.
Highly offended by fifteen minutes i had to wait at least twenty minutes between belts (except white belt i got promoted for walking onto dojang)
I found this humorus. At my school, I actually make people take two weeks of classes first, then they have to test for their white belt. This test is a free test, but they have to earn it. Nothing is given away in our school.
We test every four months because it gives us time to tweak the forms, practice one-steps, practice self-defense, etc. The instructor charges $20 for the testing and goes to buy new equipment for the dojang.

I've held the same color belt in Hwa Rang Do for over a year even though I was training. Since I was already a blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do, I didn't see the urgency nor the desire to try to move up the belt ranks in another art.
My dojo is a non-profit place, plus we are in Eastern Europe, so our prices might look ridiculously cheap to you Three classes a week cost about 15-20 USD, belt tests up to purple (4th kyu) are basically free (1-2 USD converted), brown belt tests cost progressively more, in order: 20/30/40 USD and I have no idea about black belt testing fees because they depend on the organization, and we'll have to pay in British pounds. Oh, and testing is once a year, though lots of people skip tests so it takes a loooooong time to get any higher rank. I'll probably only test for black belt after a total of 12-13 years, if things go along at this pace.
