I run an ATA Taekwondo school. Monthly fees at our location range from $50-$75 depending on what level of program and if they are on a monthly contract or paying for a 6 month or 12 month program in advance. Testings for new belts we do every 2 months, $50 for rank graduation.

Dont worry about being the cheapest, be the best. The quality of your teaching skills, the appearance of your school, and your organization skills in office work at the school primarily determine the price you can charge. A nicer facility that looks professional will always be able to charge more than a guy teaching out of a garage right?

We charge £18 per calendar month, which equals about £4.15p per week.

less than £2 per hour for those who attend our youngster class to learn technique and our older classes to learn to apply the technique.

Uniforms every 6 months for children and every 12 months you become an adult are included.

We sound remarkably cheap compaired with you lot.

The prices are very good. However, the fact that you turn out a champion in a tournament or even a group of tournaments is not necissarily a gauge of how "good" the school is. Heck, I've been the reigning champ in the Florida League of Martial Artists tournament league for three years running. Have you ever heard of that league? Nope. I doubt it. But I've been the points leader/champ for the last three years in it. So I must be good...right? Naaaa...I'm not that good. I'm pretty average, personally. Some think I'm REALLY good, while others think I'm average. (And I really don't practice that uch anymore since owning my own school) My point is that just producing a "champion" is not the be all end all of the martial arts.

The school I attend charges 35 for kids and 40 for adults monthly with a contract.class is 3 times a week
testing is 25 for colored belts and 200 for black belt testing.in order to be able to test for a colored belt you must be signed off on your form,one-steps,kicks,and blocks by a black belt
for black belts- you must request permission to test in writting, have gone through your manditory waiting period and be signed off by at least 3 different blact belts with one of them being at least a 3 degree or higher.also required to write a "promise" letter and a thank you letter that you must read out loud at the end of your testing.
2 degree and higher are also required to perform a musical form you put together yourself.after passing black belt testing you are on a 6 month probationary period you must complete before receiving you certificate, belt is received immediately after passing your testing.
just a quick run down, there's more but this is getting a bit lengthy.
children have the same requirements as adults.
