This is a bit old news but just wanted to see how you sports fan feel about a 1st year Pro coach who abandons his team in the middle of the season and accepts a job at another college - taking the easy way out. And doing so while lying about it to his players and owners.
I think it's really shame that there is a job for him at a college level for a guy like this - for millions and millions of dollars. Coaching is not all about just football knowledge. Especially for college, the coaches need to be a mentor to young minds. What can he teach to his players? Run when the going gets tough? Not the best example he's set with his life, not just the Falcons deal but even before. He never stayed in one place longer than 4 years and always looking else where while at one place.
He should be in Sports Hall of Shame for what he did.
We don't know all the circumstances and we may never will.
He was excited to finally make it to the Pros when he joined the Falcons and have a chance to lead one of the most exciting QB in Michael Vick. Things certainly didn't go his way and he must have been miserable losing after losing.
Still, the owner backed him saying he's not going to lose his job over such a dismal season. The players were also frustrated with losing but still gave all their best effort.
He could've finished out the season. He could've try to build the team and play out his multi year contract.
His leaving in the middle of the season to go back to college only serves his own selfish purpose and puts all others, his coaches, his players, the Falcons organization, and the entire city of Atlanta behind.
Again, I don't know all the circumstances but from what we can see, he took the easy way out.
I find it hilarious that the coaching profession is the way it is right now. It seems to me that people expect more from 20 year olds that cant afford a date with the girl that sits next them in class than they do a 40 yr old millionaire.

Even the best of men are capable of the most disgusting evil. Just as the most evil man is capable of showing kindness.
Do not be fooled into thinking your enemy's sin is worse than yours, or that your's is better than his.
I think the whole thing was done underhandedly and unprofessionally. Bobby Petrino is a quitter pure and simple. He lost Michael Vick and he quit without telling anyone. He definitely took the low road on this deal.
Thanks,
Tom
I cannot possibly see any legimate reason for what he did. If he'd quit in the middle of the season for some unknown reason, maybe some family issue, maybe I could understand. This isn't one of those cases as he immediately took the other job, which also means he's been interviewing and doing this when he's supposed to be preparing his team for the weekly match ups. He was short changing one employer while seeking another. This happens in the job world all the time but coaching an NFL team isn't like any other job though.
Anyway, what's done is done and it's his legacy that he has to live with. If I were a student at this school, I can't possibly have a lot of respect for the new coach.
