I think it was the World Taekwondo Federation. That's the one that's recognized by the Korean government and the Olympic.

I think ITF is not so big in Korea but more internationally, since it's started by General Hong Hi Choi, the founder of Taekwondo.

I'm a temporary 2nd brown belt and with the ITF under General Choi. We study the Chang Hon forms. I've been in it for over 10 years and enjoy it!

I am with two major TKD orgs. Universal TKD Brotherhood, Inc. under GM Eugene A. Humesky:
He is 9th Dan KKW, 8th Dan ITF-C and 10th Dan UTB. He is 86 years old and still supervises classes at Eastern Michigan University.
I am an 8th Dan with him and the UTB after 44 years (I am 63).

I was a 5th Dan back in 1988 and decided to study with a Korean 8th Dan KKW. I received my 1st, 2nd and 3rd Dan KKW through him from 1988 to 1992. Decided it was too costly too continue at that time and stopped studying with him after he moved to the NW.

Then after seeing and hearing how much individuals were paying for a KKW Dan ranking, I went ahead and got my 4th KKW Dan and their permission to promote others through the KKW.

I have helped quite a few folks get a legitimate Dan rank from the KKW at a fair price (not much more than the KKW charges iun the USA.)

I'm a Senior 1st Dan with the American Sport Taekwondo Union. However, I am also a high brown belt in seishin juku karate-do and a lifetime member of the International Tohgi Karate-do Association.
