There is an old adage for Tae Kwon Do saying that you can't use weapons until you know how to use your hands and feet. Some, I think, may take this too far and say that you have to master your hands and feet first.
I would say, go to your head instructor, (or simply the instructor who seems to have done the most cross training) and see if he will teach you some basic weapons on the side. An addendum to the curriculum, if you will. I guarantee that someone in your organization knows something about weapons, so keep asking around. Otherwise, look to other schools, books and videos. Then one day become that teacher who knows something about weapons.

True, however, in an organization of practically any size there has got to be someone who knows something outside the art. The task is simply to find that person. This, however, might be difficult as they probably won't be very public about it.

Well, it would seem like this org is large. So, yes, someone should know something. And, because of its size, there shouldnt be any difficulty and if they went public with other photos, then it should have been with weapons.
Unless, the creators of the org, did not learn weapon training and thus not have knowledge or skill to pass.

ok 47 after asking my instructor about TAGB weapons training he said " no we dont usually do them"
are you sure its just not the school your attending.
Their probably are a lot of great TKD schools out their, but I have yet to see one. The kind that was mentioned seems to be the more common. In our style, a blue belt is equal to a black belt in TKD. By purple belt, you have actually learned some very useful defence tools.

it's impossible to compare belts in different arts unless your purley talking about time to achieve

The belt system is very similar, and it takes way more time to achieve rank in our system than it does in TKD. A devouted, and I mean in-the-dojo-every-day devouted, you can achieve black belt in six years, whereas TKD you can do it in less than two years. In TKD you can be a 7 year old with a black belt. You can't test for a black belt in our system unless the Master thinks you can defend yourself against a full grown male attacker, not to mention all of the techniques...
