Wow I feel like you're getting new belts all the time! How often do you have gradings?

Congratulations, do you have any videos or pictures? That flying side kick break would make an awesome picture.

Good luck on your confirmation testing this July.

Im looking forward to testing next summer/fall, and am envious of the opportunity, but I value the time I still have to learn the basics.

Have you enjoyed your 'basic training' experience so far?

I know you cant talk much about your black belt test, but as far as the other tests go, what requirements did you have to complete?

In my school we cover form, kicking combinations, sparring combinations and a board break in our testing. Has it been similar with you?

Why can't he talk about his black belt test?

Please tell me I am wrong, Miticis. I very much want to be wrong.

SOME 'TMA' (especially TKD) schools have what they call 'closed door' black belt tests. Basically, the only people allowed in the room are black belts and the person/people who are testing. The test is then conducted in secret. I think it is to raise some kind of air mystery and/or cover up some kind of hazing that goes on.

Now, Triange, if you think this sound silly, you aren't alone.

Hwa Rang Do blackbelt tests are closed door testing with only the blackbelts able to attend.

I think some TKD schools have similar rituals but a lot more open with their high level testing. In fact, few years ago, a TKD grandmaster in our area was testing for his 7th or 8th blackbelt and invited his teacher from Korea to US and the testing was done in a huge public sports arena. A lot of people attended it and was even on the local news paper. I kind of wish I was there, out of curiosity to see what a 7th or 8th level blackbelt testing is like.
