However, now that I've achieved 2nd Dan, I really find it hard to get motivated to rank up in degrees. I could really just care less about being a higher rank. On the other hand, I am constantly motivated to become more physically fit and improve on or add new techniques to my skills. |
I've been white belt fives times. First time was when I was 3, and I think I got to like yellow belt. Then at 9, I went all the way up to junior blackbelt in TKD (red/black). Then, I tried TKD again at 13. In college, I was white again when I started Tang Soo Do, and then Hwa Rang Do. It's a humbling experience to wear the white again but didn't care as long as I knew what I was capable of and not worry about what others thought.
