Round 1
Initially, they both starts standing up and exchange punches and kicks. Silva goes for the single leg takedown and slams Kongo down, but fails to get a good position. Kongo tries for the guillotine but Silva escapes and trying to work from the top. Kongo reverses and escapes. Taking advantage of his longer reach, Kongo lands some kicks and punches. Silva again goes for the takedown but Kongo defends this time. Kongo lands some good knees and punches. Silva again picks up Kongo and slams him down. Silva had side control but Knogo held on to Silva's head and there weren't much action from the top. Going for the full mount, Kongo escapes and the round ends.
Kongo comes out and starts out with throwing few low kicks. Follows up with punches and body kick, doing some damages. Silva goes for the takedown. With few reverses, Silva ends up at the top while Kongo holding on and defends well from the bottom. Not much action and the crowd is booing. Few body punches by Silva but not doing much damage. Finally, the referee stands them up. Kongo comes out punching, Silva going for the takedown. Another pick up and slam by Silva. Same body punches and the round ends.
I give the 2nd round to Silva for the take-downs and for the fact that he was in control on top. Although he hasn't done much from the top position.
Thanks,
Sensei Tom
Kongo comes out strong with hard kicks that lands on Silva's body and head. No surprise here. Silva easily takes Kongo and slams him down. Silva is landing hammer fist on Kongo's head from side control but pretty boring. Referee stands them up again. Kongo's deadly kicks continue. And some good punches and elbows as well. Silva has Kongo in a clinch against the fence and as Silva tries to pull Kongo down, Kongo ends up at the top and lands some punches and elbows to Silva's head. Silva has a huge cut in his face with 20 seconds left and the rounds ends with Kongo continues to land some punches and elbows.
Both undefeated fighters at 9-0. One will remain undefeated but one will taste his first defeat tonight.
Etim comes out strong, kicking and punching away with his longer reach advantage. Etim landed a punch that almost knocked Matt, charges with flying knee to finish the fight but Matt avoids and has the top position as they tussle to the ground. Matt is punching away at the top position while Etim is trying desperately to hold on and guard his head at the same time. Matt is sneaking few punches between Etim's hands.
As Etim escapes, he comes out strong with his kicks. Etim had the first guillotine choke that came close and puts Matt to sleep with his second guillotine choke.
Elvis starts off with couple of low kicks. Michael grabs the leg and takes him down. Elvis almost had the arm bar from the bottom but Michael escapes. Michael still has the top position and lands some punches and elbows. Michael continues to land some bombs with punches and hammer fists. Elvis is looking bloody. Michael is ferocious with punches while Elvis is just laying on the floor. Elvis barely survives as the round ends.
Michaels comes out strong with punches and kicks to the head. Elvis caught Michael with the knee and takes Michael down. Elvis going for the kimura but lost it. Elvis still has the top position and has the back and going for the rear naked choke. Michael reverses and again starts landing punches to Elvis' head and the referee stops the fight.
