Round 1
The first round resembles a boxing match, with Guida teeing off with his right hand. Aurelio pumped a stiff jab to his opponent's jaw several times early. Near the end of the opening period, Guida dropped the Brazilian with a left hook but he was unable to capitalize. Sherdog.com scores the first 10-9 for Guida.
Round 2
More of the same in the second. Guida kept up relentless pressure with his hands, while Aurelio attempted to pull guard several times. With two minutes remaining, Guida reversed an Aurelio takedown and took the top position, where he threw punches and elbows from the Brazilian's guard for the duration of the round. Clear 10-9 for Guida.
Round 3
The final stage is a carbon copy of the first, with the whole round spent on the feet. Guida launched haymakers with few finding their range, and Aurelio was content to do little. Sherdog.com scored the round 10-9 for Guida, while the judges saw it 30-27 (twice) for the American and 29-28 for Aurelio. Clay Guida wins by split decision.
Round 1
Excellent action in this one. Jensen repeatedly fired high kicks early, with none finding their target. Jensen then landed a right hand that briefly sent Leites to the canvas, but the Brazilian worked to his feet. Shortly after another Jensen right hand sent Leites falling. The Brazilian recovered and scored a takedown, where he looked for a rear naked choke and an inverted arm-traingle from the back. Jensen escaped but was quickly taken back down, where Leites slapped on an armbar and forced his opponent to tap at 3:47 of the first.
Round 1
Hardonk threw a lazy left kick that Mir caught in the opening minute. From here, the former champion dragged Hardonk to the mat. Hardonk attempted an ugly omaplata which Mir saw coming from a mile away. Mir passed to side-control and locked up a fight ending Kimura at 1:17 of the opening stanza.
Round 1
Sobral scored an early double-leg, where he looked for a can opener. Heath was able to reverse position and notch a takedown of his own. The rest of the round saw Heath in the Brazilian's guard.
Round 2
Sobral dragged the fight to the floor about 20 seconds in, and unloaded a barrage of punches and elbows to the face of Heath for the next several minutes. Heath escaped, but "Babalu" immediately locked on a guillotine, where he switched and rolled to an anaconda choke that forced Heath to tap. "Babalu" then squeezed his opponent's neck for an extra 5-7 seconds, forcing referee Steve Mazzagatti to desperately pull Sobral off of Heath. The crowd was not pleased and showered the Brazilian with boos. The official time is 3:30 of the second.
Cote comes out swinging. Cote has Grove against the fence in a clinch, but not able to take him down. Referee has to break them up after a while. Few exchanges of bodykicks by both fighters. Cote has Grove against the fence again but Grove defends well. Good bodykick by Grove. Grove went for a takedown but Cote avoids it. Cote hits Grove with a right to the temple and knocks Grove down. Cote has him on the full mount, Grove turns over, Cote tries for the chocke but Grove turns over. Cote continues to punch and the referee steps in to stop the fight.
After both fighters cautiously punching, it's Kurt that takes Joe down first, and avoided the guillotine choke. Joe was able to reverse the position and Joe has the back position, sufflexes him to the ground. Kurt able to reverse and has Joe against the fence. Joe always going for the guillotine choke but not quite successful yet. Kurt throwing some elbows from top while Joe is trying to punch from the bottom position. Round ends with Kurt landing some punch.
Good exchanges of punches by both fighters. Kurt tries for the takedown but Joe avoids well. Good combination punches by Kurt. Joe tries for the hard punch, pushes Kurt down to the ground and has the top position. Joe landed punches to the head, Kurt is cut. Joe has the back position, going for the rear naked choke, with one leg hook in. Kurt is eating more punches from behind. Kurt reverses and has the top position now. Joe going for the guillotine but Kurt gets his head out. A big round hand by Kurt from top.
A big uppercut by Kurt to start the round. Kurt takes Joe down but no action for almost a minute and the referee stands them up. As soon as they are stood up, Joe comes out strong and had Kurt against the fence. Kurt has Joe in the guillotine but Joe escapes. Joe on top starts to throw down some punches and elbows. Joe is throwing down unanswered punches while the referee is telling Kurt to fight back. Kurt stands up and Joe throws the knee, and takes him down again. Kurt reverses and has Joe in the back, but Joe reverses, and again throws punches down. The bell rings as they both go for the leg locks.
Crane comes out kicking. Roger responds with his own kicks. Crane has Roger's one leg and taking him to the ground. Crane is still holding on to the same leg while Roger rolls and trying for the rear naked choke. Crane now has Roger's back, and now Crane going for the choke. Roger gets his head out and lands some good punches. Crane doing a good job of rolling and reverses the position. Crane has the side control now, back to full guard position. Crane has Roger's back again. Roger doing a great job of getting out of the tough position. Roger landing some good punches. Crane going for the guillotine choke but Roger escapes. Crane has a cut under the left eye.
Roger comes out kicking. Crane going for the takedown but Roger defends and has the top position. Roger landing some elbows from top. Crane's cut under the guy is looking nasty. Crane going for the oma platta but Roger finds ways to roll and get out. Crane has the side control. Roger turns over and Crane has his back but Roger slips out. Roger lands couple of kicks and pushes Crane down to the ground. Roger has the full guard position and starts to throw punches and elbows, while Crane is trying to go for submission from the bottom. Crane has the Roger's arm and going for the arm bar between the legs. Roger scrambles out and gets on the top position again with elbows and punches. Roger had the full mount for a while, Crane turns over and escapes. Roger still throws punches to tired Crane on the ground.
Crane looking tired throws lazy kic and just goes for Roger's leg. Crowd is booing Crane for staying on the ground. Crane somehow grabs onto Roger's leg and pulls Roger in from behind. Crane is just holding on while Roger is trying to damage Crane's head from a difficult position. Roger has the full mount now, Crane rolls over, and the referee stops the fight.
Josh comes out swinging hard. GSP goes for the takedown right away and has the top position. Josh tryhing to elbow from the bottom position. GSP trying to pass Josh's guard. GSP working from the top position with few punches. Josh is doing good job of keeping GSP off and throws some mean elbows. GSP has Kosh against the fence now. Nobody is doing any major damages but GSP has Josh on the ground for majority of the round. Josh has GPS's leg and takes GSP down against the fence. GSP in butterfly guard. Josh throws elbow from the top. Round ends.
GSP throws few kicks and again takes Josh down easily. GSP trying to pass the guard but Josh is holding GSP's leg with his legs. GSP going for the kimura but Josh escapes. GSP landing rabbit punches to Josh's head. GSP going for the kimura again. Josh frees his hand. GSP has the side control now. Josh scrambles but GSP still able to stay on top. The crowd is chanting "GSP". GSP going for kimura but Josh holding on. GSP throws some punches to loosen up. GPS is really trying to crank the arm. Josh escapes the round.
