Brandon comes out and quickly clinches up. Tim has Brandon against the fence, each fighters trying to throw knees. Not much action for about a minute and the crowd is starting to boo. A short separation but they end up in a clinch again. The booing is becoming louder. Finally separation. Tim able to land some good punches. Nice kicks by Brandon. Another clinch, Tim trying to throw some knees. Tim again land some good punches. Brandon throws some uppercuts. The round ends with them in a clinch and loud crowd booing. I would give the first round to Tim.

Another clinch attempt by Anderson, but better defense this time by Rich. Rich got the takedown trying to defend the muay thai clinch. Anderson able to stand up, Rich still holding onto one leg. I would have loved to have seen how Vera faired against Sylvia without a broken hand. In the first round he was landing some good straight jabs and not having much trouble getting inside on Tim (Tim only had a 2" reach advantage despite having a 5 inch height advantage). Sure he was having trouble with his size/weight against the cage, but once he was free of the clinch/Tim-laying-against-him-doing-nothing he was in the fight. He managed to take down Tim in the second round with a broken hand and land some great kicks. In the third he wasn't able to do much in the standup and had to block punches by crossing his right, un-broken, hand across his face (which seemed really odd while the fight was going on, but made much more sense after we found out he broke his hand) and couldn't land combinations of punches and kicks like I'm sure he would have done had both his hands been "working".
Anderson is insanely good. My buddies who hadn't seen him fight were even in awe of how calm and fun loving he seemed to be, all while being an absolute monster in the cage. It was funny to see him actually sort of pissed off that he had to beat Rich's ass in his hometown, he was shaking his head like he'd been screwed or something while the winner was being announced lol. It was a very respectful showcase between the two fighters though. Everytime Rich gets in his clinch (both this fight and the last) his eyes go all weird like he's totally out of it, it's really freaky. I loved when Silva grabbed the mic after his interview and spoke some english. As soon as he grabbed it I was like "Speak english!" and he did and I marked out haha. It's good to see that he's working on that aspect of his "game" too as it will only help in getting more and more people to really love the guy.
I wonder what's going to happen to Rich. As Dana said during the promo, Rich can beat everybody below Anderson but not Anderson. Rich also didn't sign a good contract with UFC and while he was the champ, he didn't make much money (32K per fight as a champion while others are getting 60K+ for non title first UFC fights)
Maybe he can jump to a different weight division or something.
Very disappointed with Rich here. He should've worked on the ground game more and do what Travis Lutter did. Rather than stand up and trade punches with one of the best strikers in the world.
