Quick takedown attempt by Matt but GSP quickly moves away. High kick by GSP and a miss. Leg kick by GSP. Another unssucessful takedown attempt by Matt. A superman punch attempt by GSP but they end up in a clinch. GSP able to take Matt down instead. Matt trying to elbow from the bottom. Elbow by GSP from top. Series of punches to Matt's head by GSP. GSP has Matt against the fence. GSP doing some damages with his elbow as Matt is in really bad position. GSP has the full mount now, while Matt is holding on tight. GSP is warned not to strike to the back of Matt's head. Complete dominating round by GSP. Matt gives up the back and GSP tries for rear naked choke but the bell saves Matt. |

High kick attempt by GSP. Another clinch, GSP able to take Matt down very easily. Matt trying to strike from the bottom but GSP continues to better his position. GSP landing punches from the top, and elbows. Matt avoids major damages and surprisingly his face is clean for a guy who spent most of his time on the bottom taking beating. GSP now has the half guard position or twisted side control. GSP has the full mount position and Matt gave up his back. Matt able to turn away and get out of trouble. Matt able to reverse and now has GSP's left leg. Matt not able to take GSP down. GSP judo throws Matt down and has the side control. GSP trying to go for arm bar and Matt verbally taps out. |

Home Country: | It was a good event overall. There were some boring fights but there were no upsets. All the people who were supposed to win won that night.
I'm also impressed with Lyoto. He should be getting a title shot in 2008 for sure. |
