The round started with both fighters prepared for the stand up fight. Kieth throws a kick and Silva counters with a right that knocks down Keith. Silva quickly mounts Keith and lands punches relentlessly as referee steps into stop the fight. Wanderlei is back!!
Sherk quickly goes for the takedown but BJ stuffs it. Good exchange of punches by both fighters. BJ utilizing his longer reach with jabs. The first round is more like a boxing match and BJ is winning with more accurate punches while Sherk misses many big shots.
Much the same standup fight as first round but Sherk able to land more punches in close encounters this round. Sherk continues to eat BJ's jabs and his face is bloody. BJ finally throws a leg kick. Sherk almost had BJ's single leg but not able to do anything. The first 2 rounds goes to BJ.
Sherk continues with the same fight strategy standing toe to toe with BJ even though he's eating more punches. Maybe he's waiting for BJ to tire out in later rounds. BJ tries the takedown but Sherk stuffs it but not before eating few more BJ's punches. Sherk continues to eat BJ's jabs. Sherk's hand appears to be injured and he's throwing more kicks instead. BJ lands consecutive punches that rocked Sean and BJ follow it up with a big flying knee that knocks Sean down, BJ quickly follows with punches that appear to have knocked out Sean. The bell ends to save Sean but the referee calls the fight as Sherk doesn't look appear to be ready for the 4th round.
Round 1
Yoshida enters to what appears to be Japanese gangster rap, while "War Machine" follows to reggae music. Both guys look fit and ready to go. Koppenhaver is the obvious crowd favorite. The two go toe-to-toe immediately. In a clinch, Yoshida tosses Koppenhaver with a perfect judo throw. During a scramble, war machine falls into a guillotine. Koppenhaver tries to defend but Yoshida has it too tight. Yoshida rolls him over and switches to an anaconda, putting "War Machine" to sleep. Herb dean pulls the Japanese fighter off Koppenhaver at the 0:56 mark of the opening period.
It was an anaconda chocke actually.

It was a great choke by the way. John didn't even have the chance to tapout as he went to sleep fairly quickly.
It was an intereting variation of the choke, I've never seen it done exactly the way Yoshida did it. War Machine was out for a long time before it got stopped too.

Yeah no doubt!! I thought he had lost the choke at one point but I was way wrong. Yeah war machine was out for a while.
