Rich attempting to keep the fight standing throws light kicks and punches while Matt just retreats back. Matt also throwing some good counter punches, even landing one while Rich tries for the kick. Surprisingly, Matt appears to stand and exchange rather than taking Rich to the ground. Rich appears to be cut under his right eye. Rich lands some good punches and appears to be sharper with his punches than Matt. Matt finally takes Rich down after Rich's punch attempt. Rich tryhing for the armbar from the bottom but Matt able to escape. Rich able to get out from under and stand. Now Matt appears to be cut.
Round 2
Leg kick by Rich and Matt ries to grab for the takedown, unsuccessful. Rich able to put together some good combination of kicks and punches. The referee stops the fight to have the doctor take a look at Rich's cut, which appears really bad. The fight resumes.
Another leg kick by Rich, and Matt tries to grab for the takedown, ends up taking some damage from Rich. Exchange of punches. Matt eats some of Rich's kicks. A groin kick by Rich stops the fight. Fight resumes.
They are in a clinch with Matt trying to take Rich down, while Rich lands some knees and escape. Matt is eating a lot of Rich's kicks, again and again. Matt tries the takedown attempt with Rich's leg but no avail. Flying knee attempt by Rich. Matt has taken a lot of damage in this round.
Rich continues his assault of kicks and punches while Matt just waiting for some ways to take down Rich. Rich throws a kick to the head and knocks down Matt and the referee stops the fight. The replay showed the kick was to the body and Matt was shown tapping out.
Rashad dances around the octagon avoiding Chuck, who hasn't thrown a lot of punches yet. Rashad is showboating after Chuck's body punch landed. A leg kick by Rashad. Rashad avoiding Chuck's attack while trying to throw punches of his own. Another leg kick by Rashad. He appears to be following Keith Jardine's strategy of not brawling and making Chuck frustrated. Pretty boring round as Rashad just retreats and not giving Chuck any chance of offence.
Rashad appearing to be willing to exchange more with Chuck this round. Rashad able to land some punches, but still dancing around quite a bit . A big right by Rashad knocks out Chuck Liddell cold.
The replay showed both fighters going for the punch, Rashad with big over the top right and Chuck going for the uppercut but Rashad punch got their first and knocked out Chuck who was on the mat for quite some time.
I was STUNNED when I saw Rashad use Liddel's patened overhand right to knock him out COLD. I mean, Liddel wasn't moving for a few minutes afterward. I was really wanting Liddel to put the hurt on Rashad too. Rashad has a big mouth and is too full of himself....Oh well.....Guess I'll have to wait to see the Lesnar vs. Cotoure(sp) fight.
