Round 3
Griffin slips during an exchange and is forced to work from his back. Evans pounds away with punches from both hands as referee Steve Mazzagatti looks on closely. Griffin hangs on and recovers enough to attempt a triangle choke and an omaplata. Evans lands five hard right hands from the top position that hurt the champion. Evans pours it on with left-handed power shots until Griffin taps out from the abuse. Rashad Evans claims the UFC light heavyweight title at 2:46 of the third round.

Forrest was trying for a kimora either for sub but probably a sweep no omoplata. I'm quite pleased with the result of this fight forrest was very gracious in defeat I never really thought he was champ any way. Rampage looked so good!!!!!! I totally thought Wandy was winning that one, and Mir is a beast. Great fights.

Rashad has finally proved all his critics wrong by becoming the only undefeated Light Heavyweight champion. His hands were so much faster than Forrest, even though Forrest had the reach advantage.

Rashad's fights used to be pretty boring, going the distance but he has finished off his last two opponents in highlight fashion. I'm sure he's won some fan over.

Sensei Tom OBrien is just really niceSensei Tom OBrien is just really nice

Great fights & I was lucky on my picks. Got everyone right exept Okami/Lister. But what happened to grappling & the ground game? It was almost non existant last night. Striking is back in a big way - WOW!

Thanks,
Tom

the match ups didn't really lend them self to any grappling. I knew Mir wasn't going to go the ground and Nog's takedowns are not the best. Watch his past fights he gets knocked down and then gets a sub or sweep off of his back. Forrest and Rashad were going to bang no doubt there same with Rampage and Wandy.
