UFC 61's main fight has been announced - Griffin vs. Shamrock.
Too bad, I really wanted to see Ortiz vs. Shamrock 2, but the injury has forced Ortiz out and Griffin jumped at the opportunity to fight Shamrock.
I give a lot of credit to Griffin. He's fairly new. He won the decision over Stephan Bonnar for the Ultimate Fighter season I. He hasn't fought anybody before, but decided to take on the former champion, Ortiz, and lost by a decision. (Many people think he should've won). Now, he wants to fight against a legend, Ken Shamrock.
I think he will be a champion one day. Maybe he will even get a shot at Chuck Liddell soon.
I heard Griffin should've won that fight against Ortiz.
If so, then Griffin shouldn't have any problem against Shamrock, right? After all, Ortiz has beaten Shamrock before and Shamrock is older and way past his prime.
Actually, the main event for UFC61 will be rubber match between Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski.
I give each of them credit for not avoiding each other and giving each other shot at a title.
This will be a good one, now that both of learned the lesson of underestimating their opponents.

Here are a few of the rumored fights i dug up but Arlovski Vs. Sylvia and Ortiz Vs. Shamrock are the only two confirmed so far... =))
If these rumored fights do take place the Stevenson Vs. Edwards would be interesting.
But with the two headliners alone the PPV is worth every penny.
UFC 61: JULY 8 IN LAS VEGAS, NV
-Tim Sylvia vs. Andrei Arlovski
-Tito Ortiz vs. Ken Shamrock
-Joe Stevenson vs. Yves Edwards (at 155 pounds)
-Frank Mir vs. Dan Christison
-Josh Neer vs. Josh Burkman
-Jeff Monson vs. TBA

Ya he didnt fare to well in that comeback fight im sure he will be ready to go for his next one if this rumor is right then he will fight Dan Christison who's mma record is 8-3 and 1 win came against Brad Imes in his UFC debut at the Ultimate Fight Night 4...
Sounds like Frank is going easy on this one after that loss. When he was first introduced during an earlier UFC, he sounded like he was ready to take the title back but he must have realized that he needs few fights under his belt before he can challenge for the title.
It's too bad that the accident forced him out. I would like to see him get a title shot at whoever win the fight between Sylvia and Arlovski. I'm betting it will be Arloski.
Ya lets not... =P Now since that one is confirmed there is no way Mir can lose this one if he does that would really suck for him. Personally i think he will go out and just dominate this other dude Christison but i also thought the same way for the Cruz fight and look how that one ended up.. =))

Frank Mir is the Former UFC Heavy-Weight champion. Who had broken the current Champs Tim Sylvia's arm ( via armbar ) in a previous fight. He lost his Belt because he mangled his leg in a motorcycle accident. ( some old lady sideswiped him or something ) So he came back for his long awaited fight after injury and got pounded by Marcio Cruz who he was supposed to beat... =)
you can check out his or any fighter's mma win/loss record here at this website just do a search on his last name. http://www.sherdog.com/
