I prefer no rules because it was more brutal more blood and the ref's didn't know when to stop the fight. Plus you could do kidney shots. Kick while they're on the ground. The real deal street fight in a cage on tv for every one to watch.
Like Pat Smith, Tank Abbott, Don Frye, and tons more. That's was real deal ULTIMATE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP!!!
I think having the rules made UFC a bit more main stream. Now they are even commissioned by atheletic committee and the doctors decide whether the fighter can continue or not.
I enjoy great fights but I don't take joy in seeing someone get seriously hurt. Once the outcome is decided, prevent the losing opponenet from getting hurt unnecessarily.

I think the rules are better for everyone. The competitors don't want to get hurt (they've got bills to pay just like the rest of us). A great fight is not all about someone getting all bloody or getting a cheap shot in, sure those things happen in a "street fight" but you don't get paid or be called the "champion' if you win a street fight.
I don't feel like such a monster for watching these events. If the event was something else people were getting bloody and getting seriously hurt, my wife wouldn wonder what kind of person I am for watching this kind of stuff.
Styles: NONE BUT IVE LEARNED SOME MOVES FROM THE UFC AND I THINK IM GONNA BUY TITO ORTIZ'S TRAINING DVD'S

I like the rules, besides it would'nt be on TV and the California State Athletic Commission along with other's would'nt approve of it without them. I dont really like how the guys in PrideFC can do face stomps that is just way brutal i feel bad seeing someone get straight up soccer kicked in the head when they are down on ground and other dude is up that could cause very serious problems lol... that is just my opinions though... =)

I totally agree. I think we can be entertained without brutalizing someone to near death. These rules definitely appeal to making the sport more mainstream.
Most definately WITH the rules....i want MMA to become a recognized serious sport not just be a barbaric fight....i personally don't like injuring people who don't deserve it
I like the rules because there are no serious head injures. The ref has the oppertunity to stop the fight. If it had no rules now it would not be allowed in the us in my opinion
Fewer rules make for a superior martial art/sport. Ancient pankration had only 2 rules no eye gouging or biting , and the Spartans didnt observe these. Perhaps this easily explains why they were the deadlier fighters.
without rules.
like Rorian Gracie said "now adays with a the rules and weight classes, wiining doesnt prove your the ultimate fighter, just someone who can win in a controlled condition"
