On the undercard, Kurt Pellegrino was scheduled to fight Wander Braga, but Braga has had to withdraw from that bout.
Stepping in to face Pellegrino is UFC newcomer Junior Assuncao. Training out of his own gym, Unit Two Fitness in Atlanta, Georgia, Assuncao brings a 4-1 record to the cage while Pellegrino sports a record of 8-2 and has one UFC fight under his belt, a loss to Drew Fickett.
Assuncao has a very strong jiujitsu game, much like his opponent and was actually preparing to do some training with Pellegrino’s team led by Hermes Franca. Obviously, those plans had to change.
But even though Assuncao steps in on short notice, he feels he is prepared to make his UFC debut. “Honestly, I wish I had 3 more weeks for weight cutting,” he commented, but “I only have to cut about 8 pounds. I feel good. It’s a good opportunity for me.”
As for his opponent, Assuncao feels he matches up well. “He’s a good wrestler, good jiujitsu,” he remarked. “I’m a jiujitsu guy, but I’m open for anything. Wherever it goes, you never know. I am ready. At this level, whatever happens, it is going to be exciting.”
I say it is a toss up between rich andh silva. Really a tough one to call... I'll give it to Rich just because he has been so dominant. Between kenflo and sherk, my heart is with kenflo but my mind is with sherk. Sherk probably by gnp. The guy has 2 speeds fast and really fast, his conditioning is incredible. Btw you can check out the official site here: http://64.ufc.com
UFC must have hired some cool designers and programers for all these official UFC fight websites.

Congo's been busy. It looks like he's been fighting pretty often. He's still only fighting bunch of no names but he should get a shot against some bigger name guys soon.
Maybe, against the loser of Frank Mir vs. Brandon Vera.

Cheick Kongo Vs Brandon Vera would be a good fight to watch.
Im rooting for Kenflo I know the odds are stacked against him but hopefully he can pull off a submission on The Muscle Shark...
To become The New UFC Lightweight Champion!!!
Sean has very impressive resume 20 something wins and only 2 losses, coming from Matt Hughes and GSP. Both losses were in welterweight. In lightweight, he should be dominant. Not sure how UFC decided that Kenny Florian is top contender in that division.
Yeah its a little one sided it would seem.....However Kenny can fight from his back and thats where Sean is likely to have any opponent....Kenny likes his knees and elbows and thats whats gonna be needed to break this wrestler...i doubt anyone could really out grapple him so leave it to a good jui jitsu fighter that can strike...

LAS VEGAS, NV - The Ultimate Fighting Championship 64 weigh-ins were held today at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. All the fighters made weight and all nine bouts are now official.
Both Anderson Silva and champion Rich Franklin looked calm and relaxed as they took the stage and were highly respectful.
One of the bigger question marks that people had was how Sean Sherk would handle moving down in weight to 155 pounds to challenge Kenny Florian for the vacant lightweight title. If the weigh-ins are any indication, he has handled the move quite well. Sherk looked his typical, etched self, if a bit smaller than usual, and seemed very relaxed. Florian also made weight, even though he had to take off his fight shorts to do so.
