So, it looks like Anderson gets a title shot after 1 UFC fight....

I hope to see UFC fighters dominating over the PrideFC fighters though. Go Rich!

Here is an official news, not a rumor, straight from UFC.

Las Vegas, NV – After a seven-month absence, UFC® World Middleweight Champion Rich “Ace” Franklin returns to the Octagon™ to make his third title defense against the seemingly unstoppable UFC newcomer Anderson “The Spider” Silva. With a history of vicious striking and devastating knockout power, Silva has quickly become the most dangerous contender in the UFC middleweight division. Franklin, who remains undefeated in the UFC, will put his belt up for stakes when he squares off against Silva in the main event of the Ultimate Fighting Championship® organization’s UFC 64: UNSTOPPABLE taking place live from Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Events Center Saturday, Oct. 14.

Also announced today will be the return of the lightweight crown to the Ultimate Fighting Championship organization. Kenny “KenFlo” Florian and Sean “The Muscle Shark” Sherk will face off at UFC 64 to battle for the vacant lightweight crown, which has been held only by former champion Jens Pulver. As demonstrated by recent pay-per-view events, the UFC has a number of talented lightweights competing in this division, including the return of Jens Pulver as well as Spencer Fisher, Melvin Guillard, Mark Hominick, Joe Stevenson and Yves Edwards.

Update on UFC 64

-Rich Franklin (#1 Middleweight in the world)* vs. Anderson Silva (#2 Middleweight)*
-Sean Sherk (#6 Welterweight)* vs. Kenny Florian for the vacant UFC Lightweight Title
-Nathan Marquardt (#8 Middleweight)* vs. Thales Leites (could happen at UFN 7 instead)
-Jon Fitch (#8 Welterweight)* vs. Kuniyoshi Hironaka
-Yves Edwards vs. Justin James
-Keith Jardine vs. Mike Nickels

American Kickboxing Academy fighter Jon Fitch, who is 3-0 in the UFC and is the #8 welterweight in the MMAWeekly Rankings, has signed on to face Shooto veteran Kuniyoshi Hironaka. The fight is set to take place at UFC 64 on October 14th.

Fitch last saw action at Ultimate Fight Night 5 in June, where he dominated Thiago Alves before finishing Alves with strikes in the second round.

Hironaka is coming off an impressive win over UFC veteran Renato “Charuto” Verissimo by TKO in the second round at Rumble on the Rock 9 in April.

When asked for his thoughts on fighting Hironaka, Fitch said, "It's a tough fight. They aren't giving me any easy passes in the UFC... I think it's going to be an exciting fight."

Regarding the match-up of his fighting style with Hironaka's, Fitch said, "I think we're both well rounded, but I think the only advantage I have on him
is a little size."

Andrei was the UFC Heavyweight champion not too long ago and now we haven't heard anything from him for a while. It will be good to see him get back up to top again.

Tim Sylvia had to get through Silva before getting the title shot against Arlovski.

Brandon Vera also went through Silva and now he'll get a chance to prove himself against Frank Mir.

Silva has lost last 3 fights. Is he really the springboard for all other heavyweights?

With UFC 63 out of the way, let's discuss UFC 64.

It will be Rich Franklin's first fight since his title defense against David Loiseau. Silva has only fought once in UFC but does bring a pretty impressive resume from the other organization. It should be a good fight.

And UFC 64 will also crown the new lightweight champion. Too bad Jen Pulver lost in UFC 63. Now, he's gotta fight a few more before he gets a chance to fight for the title.

I like all these great fights and all but do you think UFC is milking it a little?

UFC 64 is less than one month away from UFC 63. Why don't they combine all these fights together in one night?

Oh, my bad. They make twice as much money if they split it into two nights....
