I know Dana White has already announced the Hughes vs. St Pierre fight. I was wondering where you got your info on the Loiseau vs. Swick fight. I was hearing rumors about Swick getting to avenge his loss to Leben but all that ended with Leben's loss to Silva.

I was hoping for a Swick vs. Silva fight with the winner getting Franklin. Unfortunately, it is looking like Silva is getting Franklin at 64. I'm not taking anything away from Silva's skills but I feel that Swick has been working his way into title contention way longer than Silva. In my opinion, Silva and Swick resemble each other in size as well as striking ability. Swick's submission skills seem great. I've yet to see any videos showing Silva's ground game. Does anyone know how well Anderson performs on the ground?? I feel that either fighter would have a strikers chance with taking out Franklin. He's been close to being knocked out by several fighters that arent really known for their punching skills. What is everyone's opinion on that??
I mentioned it on other thread too and I don't think it's right for someone with only one UFC fight to get a title shot after beating non-contender. He should have at least one more fight before he can remotely "earn" the coveted title shot.
I've seen few of Franklin's fights and I don't think he almost got knocked out few times. I believe Franklin is a legitimate champion and will be for a long time. I don't see many fighters who have more than decent shot of taking the belt away from him. The last fight Franklin had against David Loiseau speaks volume when he fought full 5 rounds with broken hand and broken foot. Many people would've given up but not Rich.
I couldn't agree with you more on Rich's heart as well as his superiority in the division. All I am saying is he has been knocked down on a few occasions with a good shot. Loiseau was dominated by Franklin no doubt. But few people remember that he sent Franklin to the canvas with a punch in the 3rd round. UFC 53 Franklin gave Evan Tanner a bad beating. But, late in the first round of that fight, Franklin was floored with a right hand by Tanner. All I am doing is stating my opinion of one way to beat Franklin. I feel that Swick and Silva have the strikes to possibly send Franklin to the canvas with the right punch. Also, both seem to know how to finish quickly when a fighter is in trouble. Franklin is so well rounded and at the top of his game, I feel that this is about the only way he could be beaten.
This reminds me of UFC56 promotion where Nate Quarry kept saying Rich Franklin has a weak chin then ironically, during the fight Rich knocked out Nate with one punch. Nate's body fall to the floor like a stiff chopped wood.
hehe. You are right about that one! LOL! That is one of the worst knockouts I've ever seen. What I remember the most is Quarry's leg in the air when he was knocked out. But who really thought that Quarry could beat Rich??? Quarry's style is similar to Franklin's and Franklin is much stronger and faster than Nate. I'm definitely not saying Rich's chin is "weak". If that was the case, he would not have won the two fights I am referring to. We all agree that Franklin is the deserving champion here. He has dismantled everyone the UFC has put in front of him. But how else could he be beaten if it was not by a striker?? I don't know of anyone in the division who I feel has the ground game to take out Rich. And as NinjaMaster referenced about the Quarry fight, Rich can throw a mean blow too. Who do you guys feel have a chance with Franklin??
