UFC 89 FREE ON SPIKE; VERA VS. JARDINE CONFIRMED Monday, July 28, 2008 - by MMAWeekly.com On Monday, the Ultimate Fighting Championship officially announced that UFC 89, taking place in Birmingham, England would, as previously rumored, be shown for free on Spike TV on a same-day tape delay. The event will broadcast in the United States at 9pm EST/PST.
The promotion also confirmed that former heavyweight fighter, Brandon Vera, will have a prolonged stay at 205lbs as he is set to face off against former “Ultimate Fighter” season 2 cast member, Keith Jardine at UFC 89.
Vera made his debut at 205lbs on July 19 where he pulled out a unanimous, albeit lackluster, win over UFC newcomer, Reese Andy. Jardine will return for the first time since May when he suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Wanderlei Silva.
The main event for the England show will be popular countryman Michael Bisping taking on the very heavy handed, Chris Leben. Also on the card will be two more light heavyweight tilts as Thiago Silva takes on another undefeated phenom in Lyoto Machida, and Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou squares off against Luis Cane.
The card will also feature Chris Lytle as he faces Paul Taylor and Marcus Davis against Paul Kelly in welterweight action.

Eh, I'll never watch another Bisping fight in England ever! And Chris Leben hasnt been worth watching in a while. I'm suprised UFC still highlights him all the time.

Do not be fooled into thinking your enemy's sin is worse than yours, or that your's is better than his.
They are still trying to make Bisping into a big time UK hero, the same way GSP is for Canada, which will draw more fans in their respective country.
Which is exactly why I'm not watching it. Unless he gets knocked out there is no way he going to lose. A decision will go to him because the bosses want those fans.
Something is rotten in Denmark!!!!!

I thought Hamill owned Bisping. It just seemed like no matter where the fight went he was always in control. Especially when it came to throwing hands which is where Bisping was supposed to have an advantage (If I remember correctly).

Hamill vs. Bisping was a bit controversial. I personally thought Hamill won but the judges thought otherwise. There was a thread here that was posted (copied from another forum) by the referee who presided the fight and he thought Bisping won.
Either way, I didn't like how Bisping showed no respect to Hamill after the fight and acted like he was the clear winner. I just thought it was show of no class and have not been a Bisping fan since.
Still, I think he's much more favorite than Leben to win. I don't think Leben has much chance here. Bisping has looked better each fight and especially after he moved down to the middleweight.
First time I watched the fight I gave round one to Hamill Rnd 2 could have really went either way and rnd 3 to Bisping. Watched it again with Boone to shut him up because he loves Matt Hamill (because he talks funny) and still saw it the same way. Argued with Boone watched the fight a third time and fricking punch counted it and Yep winner by split decision Bisping.
