The Ultimate Fighter 5Discuss SpikeTV's The Ultimate Fighter Season 5 Here
this last episode.... dunno what number.... Dana is starting to annoy me. first off i can never understand what he is saying because it is all bleeped, and i don't think he is sincere at all. yeah i understand that those guys had to get kicked off the show, but Dana is no better. the UFC is constantly trying to do grudge matches, hell that is the concept behind TUF, two coaches that don't like eachother are pitted against eachother and then fight after the season. if he really cared about the UFC being classy he would clean up his own act instead of blaming the fighters.
Yeah, can't hear what he's saying because every word is bleeped. Maybe he thinks he's more in touch with the kind of crowd that UFC wants in beer drinking, cussing, male demographics. Or he always had the foul mouth and nobody told him to clean it up. It was always but it looks like it's getting worse and worse.
I swear (pun intended) I thought the exact same thing while watching last night's episode. I couldn't agree with both of you more. Dana talks out both sides of his face. He did the right thing by letting those guys go, but then he is talking about how he had worked his bleeping a$$ off for the past 6 bleeping years to get the UFC some bleeping respect (sorry I may have missed a few bleeps). My point is if he wants to honestly become a high tier sport like boxing was, then HE needs to clean up his mouth. TUF could be just as impressive of a show without all that cussing.
not to mention we know this is just a ratings game.... if he was really concerned about the image of the UFC then the big promotion to get you to watch last episode would not have been all about the fight at the house. he could have easily down played that and classed the show up a bit. there is no way that he was not happy that that happened. the speech was just to make him look good. and like someone said on another thread, why do they have alcohol anyway??? they are training!!!!
I also thought it was a bit ironic how he is talking down to them, telling them they are acting like high school kids, all the while f'ing this and f'ing that.
Shame about Dana's language, but he made a fair point. Those who hate UFC do so because they think that's what it is all about. I'm going to do an article on the boxing website I write for, trying to get it across that UFC is gaining popularity because of the way it conducts itself as an organisation and product. The events on TUF makes it a bit harder to write!
Perhaps the producers should have a look at the content of the programme, before that the UFC was helped grately by TUF as a show.

yeah but that is the problem, the UFC runs TUF and really i do not see them having a problem with how the badly the sport is represented. if they were concerned they would be editing it to concentrate on showing the training and not the drama. in the end all the UFC and Dana White cares about is money. and the majority of UFC fans are not MAist, they are people that like seeing people get hit, thus, you edit the show to give them the drama they want. the Dana speach in that episode was just there way of trying to have their cake and eat it too.
This cursing story is getting old. Somebody should tell Dana to clean up his act. It's like he wants to one of the boys or something. When you are the boss you suould present a professional image. He makes it feel like WWF or something. Gray Maynard and Brandon Melendez had a good fight. Gray caught brandon in a guillotine in the 2nd round. Gray has the capability of taking the whole bag of marbles.
Thanks,
Sensei Tom

I really had no idea what you where talking about Dis. That was until I watched the marathon this weekend. I have a bit of a foul mouth when I with the fellas but damn when its money time and especially if I were on tv I just couldnt talk like that.
My mom would probably be watching the show at some point, she probably wouldnt have a heart attack or anything but thats not what I want her to hear.
