TUF 5 are all lightweights. It looks like TUF 6 will be all welterweights.
My bad, thanks for the correct. What do you think of the new format all one division? Now there will be more competition instead of it split between 2 divisions, or do you think it is a way to bring in more talent, or... easier on the coaches so they do not have to teach 2 weight classes?
My guess is same as yours. Instead of having 2 weight divisions, now all 16 are competing in the same division, more competition, and they can also address where UFC thinks whichever division needs extra attention.
They've recently started back up the lightweight division so TUF 5 is probably targeted for that. I have no idea why TUF 6 is geared towards the welterweight, which I think UFC has the best depth. I would think they still need some help in the heavyweight division.

I agree, the UFC has a lot of depth at Welterweight and Middleweight. I would love to see an all Heavyweight TUF, but I think the UFC is concerned that many Heavyweights at that level of competition are blubbering, slow, Fatweights... everyone looking like Wesley "Cabbage" Correira, but without his sturdy chin.
