Maybe I'm an old man but does Dana have to constantly drop the F-bomb? I've worked in LE and corrections for over 20 years. He appears to me more like one of the thugs I deal with on a day to day basis and not the president of a multi-million dollar enterprise.
One guy got hit by a vicious right hook and when he went down he was already out and he got hit by a couple of hammer fists for good measure. Referee Cecil peoples pulled him off but the damage was done. His jaw may have been broken and he kept asking, on his way to the ambulance via a gurney, "Was that a real fight?" He was hurt.
Even Rampage said that it was one of the nastiest KO's he had ever seen.
Thanks,
Tom
After the fights were done and they went through everyone who made it into the house they showed previews of upcoming episodes and it looks like the show reverts back to the same old crap of the guys in the house being total goons fighting each other at the house and destroying the house for no reason. I enjoyed the way they started the season this year, but I'm curious how they're going to make it any different than previous years from here on out.

LOL, I like you

Everything I know in life, I learned from watching the Fall Guy.
I finally watched the rerun of the episode 2. Another show filled with non stop action. They didn't show the ones that went the distance and went to decision.
Initially, that knock out didn't look that bad. He did get hit squarely on the jaw and it probably didn't help that he got hit few more times on the ground. The idiot that hit him was too much into himself and boasting, didn't even see his opponent on the ground suffering. He was even bragging to Herb Dean that it was his first knock out. I have a feeling that he'll be the end of the receiving end at one point soon.
Why is it that the trashing of the house is inevitable with bunch of testosterone filled guys stuck in one place with nothing to do but train?
I think it has a lot to do with the majority of these guys being "fighters" and not true martial artists. Very few of them show respect for one another let alone to property. For someone who isn't already a fan of the UFC, what do you think they would think seeing crap like that for the first time? I think it gives the sport a bad rep, but at the same time probably shows exactly how a lot of these guys really are. I don't recall the first season or two having all the house desctruction, or least it wasn't shown as much--am I wrong? I know they focused more non-training time on the team challenges, which at least gave them something else to show besides the guys "hanging" at the house. I'll admit, I became more interested in the UFC after Season 1 of TUF .

It wasn't the first hook, that was nice though. He broke his jaw with one of those hammer fists afterwards. He was concerned at first. It's just part of full contact fighting I guess, I would've been way stoked about that knock out too!
I never understand why they destroy the house, it's always a nice house too. That part pisses me off, I'd feel worse about punching a hole in someones wall then I would about punching a hole in someones face.

Finall saw this episode last night and I was interested because I knew that Dan Simmler was the victim of the KO and I wanted to see it before commenting.
Dan was a regular in the east coast grappling and is a regular poster on a forum I moderate. His explanation of the fight:
"As for the punch, the original broke the left side of my jaw , the next to broke in two spots on the other side. The jaw broke on both sides at the wisdom teeth and on hte right side by the hinge. Sucked but it happens. Thanks for the good words. "
Really sucks to see a guy I kind of know, in a round about way, get KO'ed like that. I hope he heals up well and makes it back in there.
As for the guys trashing the house. You guys gotta understand that Dana White is picking those guys that he thinks will bring the best ratings, not necessarily the best fighters. How many people watch the show because of that type of drama? Lots. It doesn't represent the sport well but at this point who can blame him, his methods seem to be working.

I agree with complete. When you KO somebody you are happy for the first couple of seconds but then you usually worry about the other guy. I mean c,mon its over. Show some professionalism and concern for the opponent.
I hate when these guys get drunk and act like jerks. They act like spoiled brats.
If the ratings from past seasons are any indictation, fewer and fewer people.
Still in general the sport and the UFC are growing by leaps and bounds. People are attracted to drama in general, look at the news. The part that always bugs me is when someone talks a load of craps acts all stupid and then sucks as a fighter.

No dissagreement there, I'm just not sure how much the growth has to do with TUF anymore? Obviously the first season or 2 of the show were HUGE in bringing the UFC, and MMA in general, to the forefront. I think the next step in promotions getting shows/events on the big cable companies will give the sport its next big bump in popularity.
