The finale is headlined by a bout between former UFC middleweight champion Evan Tanner and Ultimate Fighter 3 middleweight winner Kendall Grove. The co-main event features Diego Sanchez, who won on the inaugural season of The Ultimate Fighter, facing American Top Team fighter Luigi Fioravanti. Other bouts include Spencer Fisher, returning off of a loss to Frankie Edgar, squaring up against Jeremy Stephens, who is on a two-fight winning streak in the Octagon. Jeremy Horn will return following a disappointing loss to No. 5 ranked middleweight Nate Marquardt, as he faces Dean Lister. After spending the better part of 2007 on the shelf due to a biceps injury, Lister returned with a victory over Jordan Radev in December at UFC 79. Additional bouts include Josh Burkman vs. Dustin Hazelett and Drew McFedries vs. Marvin Eastman. More bouts will be added, likely including participants from The Ultimate Fighter 7 cast, as well as the finalists, as the season comes to a close.
