When I do tournaments I stay faithful to the style which is required, always have and always will, but my choice for my own style of fighting during a friendly competition with a sparring partner is exactly that, my choice

I have to say a Bo staff is my weapon of choice since I've used it in sparring with my brothers.

I rather use a yo yo than a bo bo or staff staff

(I may get a bo bo from using any)

That was hilarious. Remember people, your bo should give your opponents bo bos, not you.

You just don't like people saying bo staff do you? As for the yo yo, a bud of mine told me awhile back that the original yo yo was invented in the Philippines as a weapon. Haven't seen or used one so I wouldn't know how that would work. Maybe something like a rope dart or maybe just a rock on a rope.

Bo already means stick, rod or staff by itself. So he 's right. It's like saying "staff staff"

Btw, they call the crowbar tetsubo in Japanese. Which means iron rod. I guess someone could develop a "tetsubojutsu" thing as a new art. Taught by Gordon Freemen.

Ha ha. The "tetsubo" is actually a greatmace of sorts, kind of like in Fable. It's a large, thick, metal and/or wooden crushing weapon, often bearing spikes and simiar attachments. The tetsubo is most famous for its mythical use by oni demons.

Apparently, the word is used for several objects, including the one that you mention.

It just means 'iron bar' so it is applied to many things, including parts of children's playground jungle gyms and such.

Get the man a broadsword.
Okay, been posting on tjis thread withouth actually answering the orignal question so I better do that before I'm exiled from Martial-Forums.
Prefer a balisong, paired sai (you can clinch a bit with these) or paired wakizashi (yeah I know I should probably go katana and wakizashi but I find it very difficult to stab with a katana and I have a preference for stabbing).

Sounds prety sweet. I've got a friend who does vital points, and he wants to learn nitoryu so he can use twin chisakatana. He considers wakizashi to be too short for his liking.
