But it still comes down to personal preference say... Playing the 360 or the PS3 and being equally skilled in them, you would still have a personal preference.

Hardly anyone obtains these.

The standard are thin handles.

I prefer the bo staff because ever since I was a little kid I'd always used my mom's broom as one. Never tried Kamas before but I would like to say I'm ok with a bo staff. Also on a few websites they do come in several sizes if I am not mistaken.

Bo staff's are great if you can get them. No, pool cues and broom handles don't qualify as a bo staff cus their lack of flexibility and weak structural integrity are way off the mark.

I prefer Kama for two reasons.
1. You can get kama with mechanisms that fold the blade into the handle making them highly concealable and also allowing you to use them as less lethal sticks.
2. I prefer close quarter combat and things that slice.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A "bo staff"

Guess this thread should be renamed then. Maybe; "What do you prefer, kama or non-existant weapon?"
I utilise the term bo staff to denote a long training staff of approximately six feet long as opposed to a jo staff which I consider to be a shorter staff approximately four feet long.

Beware the "staff infection"

A bo is a staff, but by another name.

Saying Bo Staff is liking saying staff staff or bo bo (but this could be a US redneck's name).

I rather use a gun.

So what is a Jo?
Rather use a gun. I'd tell you there's another thread where you can list your favourite weapon as opposed to replying to the original "bo vs kama" question proposed in this thread. However, you already know about that thread don't you.

Gun, is another romanticized way of somewhat incorrectly pronouncing a particular Chinese weapon.....

Okay, now you've just lost me. I thought when you said gun, you meant firearm of some type.

I see where some psots were deleted or lost.

Of course I lost you because one has to study many aspects of martial arts not limited to shear physocal.

In addition, TMA would have one become a scholar beyond limitations of physical.

In other words, most pratitioners do not take the time to actually research what they do and prefer to go after all the "cool" aspects.

But hey, we all on a continuous ball of study

Oh I didn't realise there were deleted posts. Still don't get all this computer stuff, I'm much more used to books and personal tuition.
Yes I admit that the vast majority of my training has been purely physical. I went after what I found worked and kept me alive. Until now, I have had little time to devote to the non-physical aspects of martial arts.
As for being "cool", that had nothing to do with martial arts. Just my incredible personal charisma and incomparable good looks.
