Oh,I wrapped it in a shoe string and rubber bands because the original string kind of broke.
So is it above the height limit?Because I know you have to have your blade within a certain length.

It will vary a lot from state to state and country to country. A number I have heard kicked around in 4 inches, but that relates specifically to knives.
I guess all you can do is find the licensing body in your area and apply, then see what happens.
How long is the blade on that sword? It looks exactly like a sword that I got as a Christmas present this year. It was in a set with a short sword.

I only plan to use it for home defence,no street defence. If I needed one for street,I would use my 2 inch.

You need to ask the state(Government) for buying a sword and keeping it in your home??? Haha here in Korea where I live, I can buy swords from the local MA shop!!!!

I was just curious because I'm now 18,and I'm old anough to buy one,but I'm still a litle nervouse about buying one if I don't have a permit. Not to mention the fact that there is a 4 inch limit law for knives. And I'm wanting to buy a shinken from Yoshihara.

"If the need arises" is usually assumed when you are talking about defense.
