Young Martial ArtistsPlace for young martial artists (under 18) to discuss topics that pertains to their age group
Do you see yourself as teaching in the near future or purley training ? Personally I love teaching and wish to teach atleast twice a week and train once a week.
Many young MAist don't like the idea of teaching but I find that odd because if someone had not given up thier time to teach you , you wouldn't have those skills to begin with.
whats your opinion ?

If i was experienced enough i would. I do consider myself talented in my own respect, but i dont find i know enough to teach a class. Maybe co-teaching to a class of beginner students, but thats about it.

I actually really enjoy teaching.......especially young kids..I have fun making them laugh, and doing paddle drills with them.......I do see my self teaching and opening a school. Way into the future.

I have been looking forward to working as an instructor under my current master so I can make money and keep studying under him. But I don't want to be stuck their forever.
My korean TKD teacher, always makes me help the kids practice their poomsae's(forms), even if they are higher belts than me, because I already know all the TaeGeuk Poomsae's The teacher says "You have a superior technique in every move you do; the Poomsae's are preformed like they are the only part of your life.
I also have to help the younger kids with the more complex kicks:P

For years now, I have wanted to do nothing but teach. In fact, I've always loved imparting my knowledge unto other people.
So yes, I do plan on teaching. I was going to teach Taekwondo, but instead I'm planning on teaching Hapkido. I only started a few months ago, but I expect that by the time I finish college ( I start next fall ) I'll have my black belt and will hopefully be able to teach.
If not teach martial arts right away, then I'll teach language until I earn enough money to open up a school. I'm almost fluent in Spanish as it is, on top of English, and plan on learning Italian, Japanese, and Korean in college.

I don't mind helping out the instructor with the class or being a punching bag to show techinques but I don't think I would want to open up a school until I am much higher in rank then I am now. Even then I don't think I would want to jump into the busines side of martial arts. Maybe being a guest instructor or helping out someone who already has a school would be nice. It is a nice feeling giving back to those who I have learned so much from.
